Universal Studios Florida Construction Update: New Roller Coaster Revealed from Aerial Views (2026)

Get ready, thrill-seekers! Universal Studios Florida is buzzing with activity, and the construction of a brand-new roller coaster is the talk of the town. Aerial photos have given us a sneak peek at the exciting progress, and trust me, you won't want to miss this!

Our eyes in the sky, X user bioreconstruct, recently took to the air to capture the latest developments across the Universal Orlando Resort. Their photos reveal some significant changes happening where the iconic Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster once stood.

From a bird's-eye view, the scope of the project is truly impressive. The construction stretches from the back of the park, beyond the New York area, all the way up to the waterway near CityWalk. You can see the entire area transformed into a hive of activity.

Zooming in on the CityWalk adjacent area, we see a flurry of utility work and the beginnings of foundation construction. This suggests that the new attraction is taking shape, poised to replace the beloved Rip Ride Rockit.

Looking closer to the Hard Rock Cafe, the open walkway provides a fantastic perspective on the sheer scale of the ongoing work. It's a reminder of the massive undertaking involved in building a world-class roller coaster.

Further into the park, an auger setup is hard at work, preparing the ground for the new structure's foundation. This equipment has even been visible from within the park, particularly near the former entrance to Rip Ride Rockit.

Venturing deeper into the construction zone, past Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon and adjacent to the Mummy ride, we spot work on what appears to be a service building for the coaster. A large depression in the ground is visible, bustling with workers. Notably, the first track supports have already been erected.

But here's where it gets exciting: Universal Orlando has been teasing a new Fast & Furious attraction. Could this be the new coaster under construction? An official announcement is scheduled for January 20, 2026.
