Samsung’s Qi2 magnet solution for Galaxy devices is expanding into official accessories, with a new item labeled the “Magnet Wireless Battery Pack” appearing in a certification listing. The pattern suggests Samsung intends to bring Qi2 magnets directly into future Galaxy phones (instead of relying on cases, as with the Galaxy S25), and to support the faster Qi2.2 standard, offering around 25W on the Galaxy S26 Ultra and about 20W on the other models. A Qi2 25W charging dock from Samsung has also surfaced recently.
A leak in the Wireless Power Consortium database reveals a Samsung-branded battery pack accessory. The device features a magnetic ring and the Qi2 logo on the back, and is listed as Qi 2.1.0 with an output of 15W, meaning it won’t reach the higher peak speeds typical of newer wireless chargers. Still, the design choice is intriguing.
Design-wise, the battery pack keeps a standard rectangular core, but the magnetic portion extends behind it, effectively truncating part of the bottom. This adjustment seems necessary because Samsung’s phone design places the camera module very close to the wireless charging coil, causing some Qi2 accessories not to sit flush against the device. It’s a limitation Samsung will need to address for full Qi2 adoption, though this battery pack could serve as a practical interim solution. Notably, Samsung’s own magnetic wallets use a similar design approach.
If Samsung wants Qi2 to be truly seamless, a broader redesign of Galaxy devices may be in order. For now, these accessories indicate strong momentum toward magnetic, more integrated wireless charging experiences.
