In a bold assertion, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi claims that Muslims in India will never outnumber Hindus. Speaking at a rally in Nizamabad on Friday evening, just before the municipal elections in Telangana, Owaisi shared his thoughts after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent address in the Rajya Sabha. In that speech, Modi remarked on the youthfulness of India's population amidst a global trend of an aging demographic.
Owaisi questioned what concrete steps the Prime Minister has taken to provide job opportunities and skill development for the 60 percent of the Indian populace that is under the age of 40. He emphasized that, in two decades, this youthful demographic will inevitably grow older, raising concerns about inflation and living costs that seem overlooked by the current leadership. Instead, he pointed out, there is a narrative suggesting that the Muslim population is on the rise, which he counters by stating, "The Muslim population will stabilize. Muslims will never surpass the Hindu population in India."
He further commented on the awareness among certain groups regarding the aging population and referred to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's recent call for families to have at least three children, adding a personal critique that Bhagwat himself does not follow this advice.
Reflecting on previous discussions around a proposed population control bill, Owaisi noted the earlier criticism directed towards Muslims but suggested that there is now a realization of the potential impacts of an aging population on the nation’s future.
On another note, Owaisi addressed the controversy surrounding Pakistan's decision to boycott their T20 World Cup match against India, stating, "India is hosting the T20 World Cup, yet the 'useless' Pakistani team declares they will not participate. They should have made their intentions clear before coming here. Instead, they remain silent."
Lastly, he criticized the Modi administration for its lack of response regarding border issues with China, underscoring ongoing tensions that deserve attention.
